E-commerce Operations (Future Team Lead)

A future team lead overseeing operations from procurement to shipping

Responsibilities

You will build packing and shipping workflows and manage quality for Paint Yours. Every order is customized, and you will develop systems to deliver each one accurately, quickly and without errors. Over time, you will take the lead in designing operations across the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Review order data and manage shipping instructions
  • Design packing and shipping workflows and manage quality
  • Manage inventory and supplies, and place purchase orders
  • Improve workflows using tools such as inspection systems, and maintain operating manuals
  • Plan staffing needs and manage shifts

We are looking for someone who can support day-to-day fulfillment while building a stable team structure, so we can reliably deliver more orders without compromising quality. In the future, we expect you to lead operations as a whole, including process improvement and staffing.

About Midwave
Midwave operates Paint Yours, a service that turns treasured photos into one-of-a-kind painting kits. Our small team handles everything from planning and sales to customer support. We actively use AI and automation tools as we expand beyond Japan into overseas markets, with a focus on South Korea.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, including Google Sheets and Slack
  • A careful approach to work with an emphasis on accuracy
  • The ability to prioritize and adapt to changing situations
  • The ability to communicate effectively with team members

Preferred skills and experience

  • Experience in packing, shipping or dispatch management in e-commerce or logistics
  • Experience managing on-site operations in a warehouse, store or similar environment
  • Experience managing part-time staff or shift schedules
  • Experience managing inventory and supplies, procurement and ordering
  • Experience improving workflows or creating operating manuals
  • Experience improving efficiency with spreadsheets and other tools
  • Business-level English

Employment terms

Employment type Full-time
Primary location Warehouse: Petit Maison Hiroo 1F, 5-10-11 Hiroo, Shibuya, Tokyo
A 4-minute walk from Hiroo Station
Working hours 9:30–18:30 (8 working hours and a 1-hour break), 5 days per week
Compensation JPY 280,000–400,000 per month, including a fixed allowance for 30 hours of overtime
Overtime beyond 30 hours is paid separately.
Compensation is determined based on experience and skills.
Salary reviews and bonuses Salary reviews: twice a year, with a review meeting every six months
Bonuses: twice a year, depending on business performance and individual evaluation
Days off and leave Two days off each week (Saturday and Sunday), plus public holidays
Probation period 3 months
Employment terms and benefits remain unchanged during the probation period.
